About VINCARNIT-330
VINCARNIT-330 contains levocarnitine, a naturally occurring compound essential for energy production from fatty acids. Carnitine deficiency can occur in patients with chronic kidney disease; the treating physician decides the dose and the route (oral or intravenous).
Indications
Treatment of primary and secondary carnitine deficiency, as advised by the physician.
Dosage & Administration
As directed by the physician.
Key Safety Information
- In severe renal impairment or dialysis, long-term high-dose oral levocarnitine may cause accumulation of metabolites (TMA, TMAO); the intravenous route is generally preferred in dialysis patients.
- May cause gastrointestinal upset and a fishy body odour.
